Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) BRIEFING
It's a hot and wet February morning, when some American ships are spotted by chance near our atolls. They would seem an aircraft carrier with its small destroyer escort. After a while you read some messages about attacks in other atolls of the Marshall Islands. Prepare to defend our bases!
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:
Defend the two air bases of Kwajalein and Wotja. Especially ships on anchor in port.
SECONDARY OBJECTIVE:
Attack the American Task Force: it would seem that just a single aircraft carrier and 3 destroyers are approaching.
TARGETS OF OPPORTUNITY:
None
HOME BASES:
Kwajalein seplane base: 4x H8K1 (2xtorpedoes), max 2 in flight at any time.
Kwajalein base + possible airstarts: A5M4 Claude (infinite), 20xA6M2-21 “Zero”, 10xG4M11 “Betty” (Torpedo)
Wotja base: A5M4 Claude (infinite), 20xA6M2-21 “Zero”, 10xG4M11 “Betty” (Torpedo)
United States Navy (USN) BRIEFING
Finally it's time to attack the enemy ourselves in this damn war in the Pacific. You will attack the two complexes at Kwajalein and Wotja, trying to destroy as many targets as possible.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:
Attack the two bases at Kwajalein and Wotja. Port facilities, docks, but especially ships of every kind, merchants or warships. The fleet sails in a parallel route to the two objectives, so it's suggested to attack Wotja base at first, and then Kwajalein.
SECONDARY OBJECTIVE:
Strike the airport facilities at the two atolls.
TARGETS OF OPPORTUNITY:
Attention: our recon planes, just an hour ago, reported that the presence of ships at the two ports is lower than expected, especially as regards merchant shipping which in this are should be higher. Search the whole atoll areas for a spot where they could have hidden to escape a possible American attack.
HOME BASES:
USS ENTERPRISE airstart: 30xF4F3 Wildcat, 20xSBD-3 “Dauntless”, 20xTBM-1 “Avenger” (replacing the historically correct Devastator)
This will be an airstart and the only spawn point for the team red. No plane will take off from the carrier, they will spawn at 300 m above it. This is the right solution to make the spawn point moving with the task force, giving it an unlimited number of spawns at the same time. (until the "spawn in air if the deck is full" issue is corrected).
IMPORTANT! The numbers of airplanes available can be subject to changes till some days prior to the battle, as it's directly linked to the number of players.
