FINAL BRIEFING
Objectives
Our objectives for this mission will be:
To search, locate, and destroy in the same mission at least one Japanese Aircraft Carrier in the Northern half of the map
Conduct a Blitz Capture of Tiyan Airfield in Guam
Protect the last surviving transport ship from our Northern Transport Group shortly arriving on Tinian
Solidify our hold on Aguijan by destroying the last shore battery on the South West side of the island
Continue to defend the Airbase + Airfield we captured at the North tip of Tinian
Prepare Tinian South field for capture: take out remaining AA gun and strafe any enemy reinforcements
Method of Objectives Attainment
Our forces will split into two main groups. One group for Guam and the other group for Tinian:
Guam:
102nd Squadron, 242 Squadron, and Danger Dogz Squadron.
Saipan / Tinian / Aguijan:
EAF, 64th Sentai, LLv34, and IAF.
Recon:
We will have two recon B-24s, both taking off from Saipan area. 102nd and EAF are each to supply one recon pilot for said B-24s.
One will search to the East of Saipan to sectors 14 and 15, the other will search to the West & North West of Saipan to sectors 12 & 7.
These sector assignments are based on our estimation of the enemy carrier group's location according to the enemy's routes of ingress and egress that we saw on our radar screens, and taking into account all of the air and sea recon that was conducted in the last mission. Once we discover an enemy carrier we will decide what squadron will head out to attack. It is likely that the squadrons bringing aircraft in from the supply points will be the ones tasked with heading out to attack the enemy carrier we will hopefully discover. For this reason all aircraft entering the theatre from the supply points will be armed with bombs.
Guam Situation:
The US Marines onshore at Guam have met no resistance whatsoever and have taken no losses during the landing. The Cruiser and Battleship watching over the landing zone close by have not fired a single artillery shell at any ground units on the near or far hills of Southern Guam. After significant low level mk.1 eyeball recon of the area around the landing beach and CP by IAF and 242, together with the apparent quick capture of Guam CP (without changing first to disputed), we believe with a high level of confidence that there are no Japanese land forces near the immediate area. Further recon along the rood to the North revealed a supply drop near the Bridges that was quickly destroyed by the IAF, and we discovered some burnt supply trucks. The IAF continued to carry out extensive low level recon of Guam Tiyan Airfield to the North, and have disciovered there 6x 20 mm AA guns and several trucks. Nothing else in terms of land forces ready and willing to fight an American invasion was discovered in the Tiyan Airfield area. The multiple signs and clues we are receiving are that we have either completely duped the Japanese as to what was our intended landing zone, or that the Japanese commander of the Guam garrison forces has something better to do rather then prepare for an American invasion of his island. In any case we continue to push forward, and immediately get off the landing beaches to avoid losses in life and material to possible marauding enemy ships that may sweep close by to the landing beach. The Cruiser and Battleship will be released for their next operations, as they will not be needed to protect an empty beach.
Guam Tiyan Airfield Objective:
We will attempt to capture Guam Tiyan Airfield in a quick Blitz maneuver.
102nd Squadron and 242 Squadron have exactly 30 minutes to take out all 6 AA guns of Tiyan Airfield before our M8 Greyhounds and M3 Half Tracks arrive at the airfield, otherwise they might gain a LOS and will start to shoot at our M8 Greyhounds and M3 Halftracks charging in from the South of Tian. We will do our best to plan our ground forces route of approach so that they minimize their exposure to the Tiyan Airfield AA guns. I also believe we will need to take out an adjacent shore battery, just North of the Tiyan Airfield. Once the AA guns on the airfield are silenced, and on condition that you do not need to defend yourselves from enemy air attacks, a careful sweep of the 4 km radius around the airfield, killing any and all enemy ground forces you encounter within the 4 km radius will be necessary to effect capture. Take notice of the forested area to the East of the airfield, seasoned SEOW commanders may use these forested areas to hide enemy units from air attack and delay a capture. Another thing to consider is enemy reinforcements that may be sent in from the main airfield in the South West to arrive within the 4 km radius of Tiyan Airfield late in the mission. This is where the Danger Dogz Squadron come in to the game plan. The Danger Dogz Squadron will bring in 6x Hellcats from the supply points, and will arrive with a delay and the endurance to stay on as long as possible over Tiyan Airfield, assisting 102nd and 242 Sqadrons with taking out any remaining AA guns and thoroughly searching the 4 km radius of the airfield, including the forested areas , and with a watchful eye on any reinforcements along the road running from Tiyan Airfield South West to the Main Airfield of Guam. Danger Dogz Squadron will air launch from the South East Supply Point with a Drop Tank, bombs and rockets, and will be expected to have a longer endurance then the 242 and 102nd squadrons.

Tinian:
Our situation in Tinian begins to be desperate. In the last mission the enemy attacked Aslito airbase on Saipan, destroying several of our parked aircraft and also destroying the fuel farm adjacent to the airfield. We will now have to bring in many aircraft from the supply to maintain enough flyables for each mission. The attack on Tinian will concentrate on three very narrow objectives: Destroy the SW shore battery on Agujan, kill the last AA gun at the South Airfield, kill any units making a move to the South Airfield, or our captured Airbase + Airfield on the North tip of Tinian.
DO NOT try to take out the acks at Tinian Main Airfield. We already have enough intel to see on the MP that the place is nothing less then a hornets nest. Unfortunately we simply do not have enough aircraft to conduct an attack enmasse to overpower the AA defences. So please stay away and do not cause any further losses of airframes. This one will be a big ground war and we need to take it step by step. Tinian Main Airfield will require a combination of Air and Ground power to neutralize. In the meantime we can hold the North Airbase + Airfield, capture the Tinian CP in the South, and bleed them as they will probably send unit after unit Southward from the Main Airfield of Tinian to recapture.
In summary, we are in that stretch of SEOW campaigning where saving our airplanes, bringing them back to base to land so that we can continue to use them in future missions will make a big difference in the outcome of this campaign.
Save our planes gentlemen, fly safe and fight smart.
