Protection of our tanks in the area west of Stalingrad

69GIAP will fly 4xYak7 and IAF will take 4xYak1B


SECTOR RED

69GIAP 4xYak7 alt 100-500m

You will take 2xYak7 over Brigade NORTH (100-500m) and second element 2xYak7 over Brigade SOUTH, patrol at 100-500m altitude
Your primary targets are low level JABO, they usually attack in last 10-15 min of mission so save your fuel usiing 50% power and 50% pitch

102nd 2x Yak1B patrol alt 2000-2500m

Primary task is protection of =69GIAP= Yak7s

102nd 2xYak1B patrol alt 4000m

IAF 2xYak9 patrol alt 6000m

If any of this flights is under attack or is in a bad position to fight, dive to 500 -1000m and go to Sector BLACK

IAF 4xYak1B you are coming from R6 airfield, so it will take some time for you to arrive
Once in Sector RED, 2xYak1B are to join with IAF Yak9s at 6000m and second element is to stay in Sector Black at 4000m



SECTOR BLACK:

IAF 2xYak1B patrol alt 4000m

Your task is to protect any flight who is chased from Sector RED to Sector BLACK, or simply to retake their position
For example: If 102nd flight at 2000m is forced to run away, you will help them or you will take position at 2000m over tanks and 69GIAP

IAF 4xP39 patrol alt 8500m

102nd 4xLa5 patrol alt 8500m

Stay in Sector BLACK until last 30 min
This flight will be used only if necessary

To all flights: Do not go in combat if you are not in better position
We are waiting for Axis bombers and we need to stay alive until the end of mission
Attack only if you have advantage in alt, otherwise, run to Sector BLACK, regroup and come back to Sector RED
We have Emergency field in F8/9 that we can use.



2) Destruction of the enemy tanks in sector H6



EAF and 102nd

Rendezvous point for 8xIL2 + 4xYak9

Axis tank brigade that needs to be destroyed probably moving due South, along river

After the attack, IL2s will split in two formations
102nd will go to Supply Center (G3), EAF will go to CP H3
Your task is protection of ground units in these sectors
You will keep fighters east (10-20km/ 3000-6000m) and in reserve
If any of this group is under attack, report to fighters and if possible, rejoin two groups for better protection
Defend yourselves by flying low and make space between a/c 100-200m so you can attack fighters in head-on or side attacks
Fighters, attack only enemy under you with one pass only and then withdraw to safe position, use hit and run tactic if possible
