Dawn is rising over the island fortress of Malta. During the last night mission the enemy has sed 109's again, though only a a fourship. We're expecting to see some more this mission, sweeping ahead of the bombers as usual in an ettempt to makes us waste our fuel, energy and ammo.



6 Sptfires - Barrier CAP as a big wing 30km north of Malta at medium-high altitude. Delay takeoff by about 10 minutes. May choose to dispatch a forward spotter pair north up to 20km from the Italian coastline (grids B20-E19), in that case the remaining fourship must stick together and still delay takeoff.

3 Hurricanes - Point defense around Malta and specifically Valletta. Delay takeoff by about 10 minutes, then stay well to the south of Malta for another 10 minutes, starting your actual patrol around Valetta only 20-30 minutes into the mission, attempting to avoid enemy fighter sweeps until you spot and engage incoming bombers.

3 A-20 - Bombing raid aimed at destroying industrial targets in Augusta (M23 numpad 8/9). Fly a south-north bomb run. Secondary target Siracusa (N21 numpad 7/8 ). 2 X 500lb + 4 X 300lb bombs.

2 Beaufighters - Low altitude interdiction of enemy industrial targets in the city of Licata (B22 numpad 9). Little or no AAA defence expected at the target itself, but beware of AAA in the nearby Licata airbase. If your status permits, attempt to coordinate with the fighters to join them in CAP over Malta once you've completed your original objective. Louadout: 4 X 250lb bombs (bomb bay and wings).

1 B-24 - Conduct photo recon of Licata (B22) and Gela (E22) airfields. You have a capacity of 10 photographs. Take 4-5 slightly spaced shots of every target from a high altitude to avoid flak.
