היי חברה,
ביום חמישי 31/12/2009 בשעה 21:00 ניפגשים לטיסה בקמפיין אביב 1942 בזירת MIDWAY
בעקבות המידע שנצבר מהניסוי הקודם שלנו (תודה למי שהיה שם), פורסמו שלושה קבצי il2fb.exe חדשים שאמורים לפתור את התקיעות שישנם במשימות כבודות לאנשים עם מחשבים ישנים.
מדובר בשלושה קבצי exe שניתן להוריד ולשים את אחד מהם (הרלוונטי) בתוך התיקייה הראשית של המשחק. ה-exe החדש מאפשר למשחק להשתמש בכמות גדולה יותר של זיכרון, ומבצע ניקוי קצת יותר טוב של זיכרון נצבר של המשחק. קובץ זה יאפשר לנו לשחק במשימות ומפות יותר כבדות, עד המגבלה של מערכת ההפעלה של המחשבים שלכם.
מבין שלושת הקבצים אני ממליץ כדלקמן:
לאלו עם מערכת הפעלה של 64 ביט ו-4GB או יותר של זיכרון להשתמש ב-exe של ה-1GB
לכל השאר אני ממליץ להשתמש ב-exe של ה-512MB
למי שיש מחשב ממש ממש ישן עם מעט זיכרון (1GB או פחות) ממליץ להשתמש ב-exe של ה-256MB
במקביל אנחנו עדיין חוקרים את בעיית זליגת הזיכרון וקווים לפתור את הבעיה בקרוב.
ביום חמישי 31/12 בשעה 21:00 אנו ניפגש על השרת כולנו ביחד לטיסת ניסוי של הקבצים הללו עם המשימה הכבדה של MIDWAY שנתקעה לנו אחרי 45 דקות.
ממליץ עוד דבר להפעיל ב-JSGME: תעבירו ימינה את EFFECTS LOW.
זה נותן לכם את האפקטים ועננים המקוריים של IL2 במקום של המוד שקצת מכבידים על מחשבים ישנים.

Ivan Cesare and Zoltan have been looking into this and have just made a new set of exe's
with optimised GC - Garbage cleaning..which is a problematic part of the Java runtime - built in
if its on constantly or just completely off there is no RAM spike which is what causes the Lag
freeze and disconnect problems possibly in large and long mission - thats the hypothesis currently anyway
Importantly Ivan also made a 500mb and also a 256mb version which anyone should be able to use
not just those with powerful computers
1Gb with optimised GC by Zoltan - probably optimum for 2GB RAM + & new multicores

256mb with optimised GC by Ivan - A very old PC of any type possibly, try 500mb first though

In testing I can run the old midway mission (the one that froze) for a full 3 hours without any problems with the 1Gb and 500mb version
I have not tested the 256mb version yet but it would improve performance anyway ovr the stock one
The integral GC options in these are a new development but it makes these the most advanced option to date
The 512mb version is my favourite option as its actually at a size where ANYONE could run it so its an actual 'patch' or 'hotfix' option for everybody if testing goes well
I would recommend just dropping into your il2 installation at first
If it doesn't work well disable Hsfx history mod with JSGME and re-apply
you will just wipe out the new one and revert to the original again
if your game boots and runs with no problems and there is no net depreciation in performance
then also add the new exe into jsgmemods/ Hsfx history mod replacing your current one
No problems with CRT with this...its not part of it
