Hi all
Here is the briefing for the next Lybia mission
From Sidi Rezegh
4x Spitfire MkVc
Fighter sweep W of El Adhem region
Actively seek engagement with axis fighters
From Tobruk
2x Hurricane IIb
2x Hurricane IIc
4x Hurricane IId
Attack enemy ground units at Acroma and AJ18
Hurricane B and C models to provide escort for D models as they do tank busting of enemy forces
From Burdiyah
2x A-20C
1x Sunderland
The Sunderland starts from a reinforcement point and proceeds W searching for
the two enemy tankers which were spotted somewhere in AP/AQ/AR 23-24
The Bostons start from Burdiyah, and work in cooperation with the flying boat to sink those ships
If the Sunderland manages to sink them on its own, the secondary targets for Bostons are
any enemy units between Dernah and La Bomba or in the gazala region depending on time
From Marsa Luc
2x Blenheim MkIV
Starting from Marsa Luc they are to fly to AH14 and engage the two 88mm batteries there from low altitude
Monitor communications to see if the air is clear of enemy fighters before you venture near the target area
From El Adhem
1x B-24J
Take off from El Adhem following the route north to Tobruk and then over the sea to the first target
Dernah airfield
Perform high altitude reconnaissance runs with 3 photographs over Dernah and Martubah each
followed by 2 photos over each Tmimi and La Bomba
Follow the waypoints closely
For IAF and 242nd I am planning for you to take
the Bostons, the Blenheims, the B24, the Sunderland and I hope a pair of Hurricane fighters
However, we need to make the final allocation when we see how many people show up
Since 102nd is going to take the Hurricanes IId and the Spitfires for sure
it will be problematic if we can't communicate with the escorting Hurricanes
so IAF be prepared to fly bombers on this mission on Wednesday
